Jake Richardson is blind. He has just found out about some miraculous new technology that may be able to restore his vision but it also may prove fatal to him and those close to him.

Excerpts From Chapter 1:

Being completely blind in both eyes, lacking even light perception, he did not use the lights when no one else was in the house. He tried to remember the last time that someone had been here, in the study, when the lights would have been on.

Had that light been on since Dan left? He just didn’t know. It was on now. If Dan had not left it on, what did that mean?

As he sat and waited for the computer to boot up, he thought that he heard a sound behind him, just for a split second. He swiveled around in his chair. He called out into the darkness “hello”. Nothing. He called again. Nothing. He started to get an uneasy feeling. After all, someone could be standing right in front of him and he wouldn’t be able to see them. He admonished himself, “Jake, old boy, you have been writing so much that you are starting to act like you are living in your novel”.

As he reached for the keyboard, he felt a small circle of steel pressed against the base of his neck. A voice from behind him and just to his left said “that looks like a pretty good book that you are writing and if you want to live to finish it, do not move”.

What people are saying:

  • “I don’t usually read mysteries but I thoroughly enjoyed this one! I hope to read many more of your books!”
  • “A must read. Great book, once you get started you won’t want to put it down.”
  • “A definite page turner. Great read! Can’t wait for a second book by the author.”
  • “Keeps you on edge of seat the entire book! Absolutely could not put it down!”
